Rolla Tahir

Rolla Tahir is an independent filmmaker and programmer dedicated to championing Arab and emerging filmmakers through advocacy, mentorship, and consulting. She is the co-founder of Toronto Arab Film, the city’s only pan-Arab film festival, where she serves as Artistic Director. In this role, she leads the festival’s artistic vision and oversees its year-round initiatives, working to build, sustain, and nurture a vibrant cinematic ecosystem for Arab films and filmmakers in Canada.

Tahir is also the founder of Qan Yama Qan Films, a production company committed to amplifying diasporic narratives distinguished by formal ingenuity and singular voices. She holds a specialist degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto.
