Reem Morsi

Reem Morsi is an Egyptian-Canadian writer-director based between Cairo and Toronto, working across fiction, comedy, and socio-political drama for film and television. A former United Nations human rights officer, her storytelling is shaped by a decade of fieldwork in women and child protection in conflict and post-conflict environments. Her debut feature, Banned, was produced through Telefilm’s Talent to Watch program, with support from the CFC/Netflix Accelerator and Canada Council. Her feature script Bootleg received the SFFILM Rainin Grant and Telefilm New Voices Award, and was developed through Berlinale, Torino, and Cannes’ Atelier du Cinéma du Monde.
