Who We Are: (TAF) is a non-profit organization bringing films from and about the Arab world to Toronto audiences. TAF began in 2017 with the goal of addressing a lack of films from the Arab world in Toronto film programming. It has since grown into a multifaceted organization that promotes the diversity of Arab cultures, builds community, creates opportunities for exchange, and develops emerging artists. TAF is ultimately rooted in a desire to reinstate a tradition that has been lost over time: coming together to watch films.

Our Mission: To showcase the diversity of the Arab world and support emerging Arab filmmakers, while building connections between the Arab and non-Arab community.

Our Vision: To spearhead a significant, positive shift in the image of the Arab world among both Arab and non-Arab film audiences.

Who You Are: We are looking for board members who are passionate about arts and culture. We are especially looking for candidates who possess experience in the following:

  • Film festivals and arts administration
  • Non-profit governance and leadership
  • Fundraising and development
  • Community outreach and engagement
  • Marketing and public relations
  • Financial management
  • Legal expertise and literacy
  • Grant writing and editing

Responsibilities: As a board member, you will:

  • Attend monthly board meetings and participate in committees.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Support fundraising efforts and outreach initiatives.
  • Advocate for the festival within the community and beyond.

Why Join Us? Joining the Board is an opportunity to make an impact in the arts community while connecting with fellow industry professionals. You will play a key role in shaping the future of the festival and supporting the growth of Arab cinema. Application Process: If you are interested in becoming a board member, please fill out the following form.
