Aisha Evelyna

Aisha is a Toronto-based actor and filmmaker of Caribbean descent, dedicated to spotlighting underrepresented voices. She won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance in a Web Program or Series for THE DROP, which she co-created, wrote, directed, and starred in. The series, which premiered on Narcity Canada in 2023, led the digital category with five nominations, including one for her direction.

Her debut feature film SEAHORSE—a 2022 Telefilm Talent to Watch recipient—is in post-production. Starring opposite Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s Joseph Marcell, Aisha will be the first Black Canadian woman to write, direct, and star in a Canadian feature film.

Named a “Screenwriter to Watch” by the Austin Film Festival in 2023, her short ALEX (2022) premiered at HollyShorts and AFF, and became a Vimeo Staff Pick in 2023.

Acting credits include REALLY HAPPY SOMEDAY (TIFF ’24), Rabbit Hole (Paramount+), and Slo Pitch (IFC/OutTV). Her earlier shorts ACCIDENTALS (2017) and SHOEGAZER (2022, 554K views on Omeleto) screened internationally to critical acclaim.
